Getting Started

Everything a new player needs to know — from your first moments on the server through understanding every core system. Read this page and you will be ready to survive, progress, and compete.

Your First Steps

The moment you connect to play.primordialmc.com, your journey begins on the Arrival Pad. Here is exactly what happens:

  1. You spawn on the arrival pad and see a title screen: "Primordial" with the subtitle "Walk through the portal ahead".
  2. After about 5 seconds, a welcome message sequence plays explaining the basics.
  3. The Newcomer's Path quest automatically starts. This is a chain of 18 quests designed to teach you every core system on the server.
  4. Walk roughly 20–25 blocks down the atmospheric stone steps toward the glowing portal ahead of you.
  5. Stepping into the portal triggers /wild — a random teleport that drops you into the survival world.
  6. After landing, you see a "Your Adventure Begins" title and receive a nudge to open /quests.
  7. Quest 2 of the Newcomer's Path guides you to claim your starter kit — a set of iron gear and food to get you going.
Tip

Follow the Newcomer's Path quest line from start to finish. It walks you through professions, land claiming, the economy, combat, and more. Completing all 18 quests is the single best thing you can do as a new player.

Understanding the World

PrimordialMC's world is divided into three distinct regions. Knowing where you are determines what rules apply.

Three Regions

Region Description PvP
Spawn Plateau The safe hub area. No mob spawns, no block breaking. NPCs, crate stations, and community features live here. Off
Wilderness The PvE survival world. Explore, build, mine, farm, and claim land. Mobs spawn and the world is fully interactive. Off in claimed land
Warzone A roughly 500×500 block PvP zone at the center of the map. Full PvP with item drops on death. On — full loot

Spawn / Gateway Plaza

The Spawn Plateau serves as the server's central hub. Here you will find:

  • NPCs: Gem Shop, Vote NPC, Dark Market, and Rank NPCs
  • Crate Stations: Open crate keys earned from voting and events
  • Leaderboards: See top players across professions, combat, and economy

Key Navigation Commands

  • /spawn — Teleport back to the Spawn Plateau at any time
  • /wild — Random teleport into the Wilderness to find a new spot

Core Systems Overview

PrimordialMC has deep, interlocking systems. Here is a high-level look at each one so you understand how they fit together.

Main Level

Your main level is gained passively through profession level-ups. As your professions grow, your main level increases automatically. Your main level unlocks gear tiers and accessory slots, gating your overall power progression.

5 Professions

Each profession caps at level 100. Leveling professions is the primary way to increase your main level.

  • Mining — Break ores and stone for XP and materials
  • Woodcutting — Chop trees and harvest wood resources
  • Farming — Grow and harvest crops for XP and trade goods
  • Fishing — Catch fish with a deep custom fishing system
  • Combat — Gain XP from killing mobs and players
Seasonal Bonuses

Each in-game season gives a +25% XP boost to one profession: Spring = Farming, Summer = Combat, Fall = Mining, Winter = Woodcutting. Plan your grind around the seasons for faster progression.

Gear Tiers

Equipment follows a rarity progression. Each tier is gated by your main level:

Tier Level Required
Common Level 1
Uncommon Level 5
Rare Level 10
Epic Level 20
Legendary Level 40
Mythical Level 60

Quests

PrimordialMC has 482 quests spread across 12 quest trees. Quests drive your progression and reward coins, XP, and unique items. Open the quest menu at any time with /quests.

Economy

The server runs on two currencies:

  • Coins — The primary currency, earned from gameplay (quests, mobs, selling items). Used for most purchases and trading.
  • Gems — An earnable premium currency. Obtained through voting, achievements, events, and quests. Used for cosmetic ranks and special purchases. Gems are not pay-to-win — they are fully earnable through play.

Land Claiming

Protect your base by claiming land chunks. Claiming is free and you earn +1 additional chunk per hour of playtime. Claimed land prevents other players from breaking or placing blocks in your territory.

Tips for New Players

Priority One

Complete the Newcomer's Path quest line first. It is 18 quests that walk you through every major system on the server. Do not skip it — the rewards alone make it worth your time, and you will understand everything much faster.

  • Vote daily for free crate keys and gem streaks. Consistent voting builds up significant rewards over time. Use /vote for links.
  • Focus on 1–2 professions early. Spreading across all five will slow your main level progression. Pick your favorites and push them first to unlock better gear tiers faster.
  • Avoid the Warzone until you have at least Rare tier gear. Going in undergeared means losing your items to better-prepared players.
  • Join a guild for territory protection, shared resources, and social benefits. Solo play works, but guilds give you a significant edge.
  • Use /dailyquests every day for extra coins and progression. These reset daily and are an easy source of consistent income.
  • Check the Auction House (/ah) for deals from other players. You can often find gear and materials cheaper than farming them yourself.
  • Plan around the seasons. Spring gives Farming +25% XP, Summer gives Combat +25%, Fall gives Mining +25%, and Winter gives Woodcutting +25%. Time your profession grinding to match the current season for maximum efficiency.
Warning: The Warzone

The Warzone is full PvP with item drops on death. Do not enter until you are comfortable losing what you bring. Rare tier gear minimum is strongly recommended before setting foot inside.

What to Do After the Tutorial

Once you have completed the Newcomer's Path, the world opens up. Here is a recommended progression path to keep your momentum going:

  1. Pick a profession and start leveling. Try /miningstation, /woodstation, or head into the wild and start gathering. Each profession has dedicated stations at spawn for quick access.
  2. Complete daily quests (/dq) for coins. This is your most reliable daily income and keeps your progression moving forward.
  3. Claim land near your base to protect it from other players. Land claiming is free and you earn more claim chunks the longer you play.
  4. Work through your first profession quest tree. Open /quests and find the tree that matches your chosen profession. These quests provide targeted rewards for your playstyle.
  5. Save up for your first rank upgrade. The Pixie rank costs 1,000 gems and unlocks additional perks and cosmetics. Earn gems through voting, achievements, and events.
  6. Try Zombie Mines (the T0 dungeon) when you feel ready. This is your introduction to PrimordialMC's dungeon system — bring decent gear and potions.
